Saving lives with fire

Firefighters save lives, but so do journalists.

That’s my usual response when yet another person asks me why I’m so keen on becoming a journalist. Even if I’m wrong I know that in some cases – when it involves my favourite journalists whose work actually save lives. I want to make stories that do not change the way people think but give them correct information and let them make the decision to change their mindset based on the information in my story.

In addition, I want to bring joy to this world by writing stories that inspire and help people in their everyday lives. I want to let them how and what I feel and give everyone a possibility to learn from my mistakes. That is the one thing that I have been trying to do since I was fourteen years old – that’s when I started to write a blog about my football career. I was only fourteen when I had a serious knee injury and that made me want to write about how I got it, how I recovered and how every young player can change their mindset in order to prevent injuries. The blog became extremely popular and I wrote it for almost five years.

So in conclusion, it is vital for me to make a change in this world and I am sure that as a journalist I can make that change.
